Extending the schema

I would assume this information would be somewhere on the openldap.org
website but it is so hard for me to navigate that I haven't found any
yet.  It seems like it would be an easy thing to extend the schema on
openldap but I used web2ldap and apparently the attributes that I added
have no object class.  So could someone tell me how to extend the schema
or point me to a web page that shows me how?

I'm more confused about how to add attributes but I do need information
on both objectclasses and attributes.
