That may mean that you've inserted the wrong value for saslauthd_path into
/usr/lib/sasl2/slapd.conf, or perhaps the user that your slapd server runs
under does not have permissions to access the location of the mux.

Check the value of your saslauthd_path option in /usr/lib/sasl2/slapd.conf
(or try commenting it out).

Running testsaslauthd as the same user as slapd is a good test.
