I mean that both methods are more expensive then just remove+add or just add one more value.

Agree. But my original question was about EQUALITY specification.
Why not just to add it to the schema? Is it because the jpegPhoto specification from RFC2798
does not specify it?
Extra questions:
- Why octetStringMatch is not accepted by server?
- What are the general recommendations about EQUALITY MR if I need to create my own
schema which contains a binary attribute?
