RE: Access * by * auth?
I actually meant about the directive "by * auth".
That should no way give anyone write access.
The only difference between the first and second "access conf" was this
additional directive. I think "auth" shud allow only
authentication(binding) and nothing else.

AFAIK, man pages document an "access to ..." directive.
There is no mention of "access * ..."
