RE: OpenLDAP install issue with SASL
Support for Cyrus SASL 2.1.2 was dropped quite a while ago because it was too
buggy to be used reliably; 2.1.3 is the oldest version of Cyrus 2.1 that we
allow. Of course, you should be using the latest Cyrus release, 2.1.12.

Hello All:
I am installing OpenLDAP utilizing:
Solaris 2.8 sparc
openldap-2.1.13 ( I have also utilized openldap-2.1.12 with the same
results )
db-4.1.24
openssl-0.9.7a
cyrus-sasl-2.1.2
Default Library Path (ELF):
/usr/lib:/usr/local/lib:/usr/local/BerkeleyDB.4.1/lib:/usr/lib/sasl2
configure line
CPPFLAGS="-I/usr/local/BerkeleyDB.4.1/include -I/usr/local/ssl/include"
LDFLAGS="-L/usr/local/BerkeleyDB.4.1/lib -L/usr/local/lib -L/usr/local/lib/sa
sl2" CC=gcc ./configure
output error
checking Cyrus SASL library version... no
configure: error: Cyrus SASL library located but incompatible
According to the documentation I have read the versions of software I am
utilizing should work. Any light that can be shed on this issue would be
appreciated. :-)
Thanks,
Lauri-
