Problem with ACLs

Hello all,

I have been trying to introduce ACLs in our openldap setup. After going
through the faq, I used the most basic ACL I could find

access to *
    by self write
    by users read
    by anonymous auth

However, my LDAP clients are refusing to connect after I configured ACLs. I
tried all clients -Netscape, Outlook, LDAP Navigator, LDAPbrowser etc with
the same results. - NO ACCESS.

If I remove the ACL, I am able to access the LDAP server. Can somone help me
here please ?
