connect from remote, but not from local
I'm trying to set up ldap for my authentication db for pam and samba.
I have the ldap directory in place and am able to successfully query it
from other systems. But when I try to run the same query script on the
server with the host set to 127.0.0.1 I get:
Unable to connect to LDAP server 127.0.0.1 at ./searchldap line 26.
And when I stry to ssh to the system I find this in auth.log:
Nov 18 10:50:00 ciscoii sshd[8452]: pam_ldap: ldap_simple_bind Can't contact LDAP server.
I can't figure out where to look. Last week it connected ok, then
over the weekend that system had a ups failure, but came up ok. Thanks
for any help.
I'm using Debian woody with:
libldap2_2.0.23-14
slapd_2.0.23-6
