back-BDB
Hello,
I really appreciated the new FAQ regarding backends:
http://www.openldap.org/faq/index.cgi?file=756
Unfortunatly I didn't understood if back-bdb is a new feature or if I am
already using it in my 2.0.21 openldap version. It was compile with:
--with-ldbm-api = berkeley, and my files are .dbb files, but my
slapd.conf file contains a "database ldbm" keyword !?. It's a little bit
confusing .
Will I get something different (and better ?) using a 2.1.5 openldap
with back-bdb instead of a 2.0.21 or 2.0.25 ldbm and .dbb files ? I saw
from 2.0.25 source RPM .spec file that it statically link slapd to db
4.0.14 when defining "backend" to "berkeley", will it be the same
berkeley db with 2.1.5 or another API ?
Finally is 2.1.5 reliable (stable ?) , I recently got a corrupted
database and I want to upgrade from my 2.0.21 to a more secure backend .
Thanks.
PS: are there source RPM packages for 2.1.5 ?
