Refer replica updates to master server?

Hi there,

Would anyone please advise if it's possible to refer updates (e.g. ldapmodify) 
to slaves/replicas to the master server?  The referral on replica points to
the master server already.  Would anyone please help ?  We're using OpenLDAP 
1.2.4 on Solaris 2.6.
