"givenName" attribute missing?

Hi!
I noticed that the attribute "givenName" is not present in the
(standard) objectclass list included in the openLdap package. Possible
to include it anyway(add objectclass)?

The attribute "givenName" is included as optional in objectclass
inetOrgPerson but I also noticed that many (all those I tried) LDAPv2
cant handle "givenName" (or "GN") since the objectclass isnt included.
Isnt givenName a very useful attribute? What are the alternatives (when
one wants to send only firstname)?
