You can find the latest release of your vendor's SDK for C from
your vendor.  See their webpages for details.  Each vendor's SDK's
differ (some more than others) but can be used to produce a client
which interoperates with other vendor's servers.  Your mileage
may vary.

OpenLDAP latest SDK in included in our latest release, 1.2.9
(available from the usual places).
