It is not misleading, it is as per RFC. The issue is more, being new to
LDAP, you're not aware of what the message means. ;) Also, please keep
replies on the -technical list.
More specifically, invalid credentials simply means some part of the
credentials supplied is incorrect. In your case it was the DN.
