We just upgrade our OS system and installed the most recent openldap
version: 2.4.4.

No such release as 2.4.4. Do you mean 2.4.40? Also, you cannot justblindly move the database between 2.3 and 2.4. You need to export the DB(slapcat) from 2.3, and then import it (slapadd) to the new server.
