How to check syncrepl?

Hi,

We have a MirrorMode replication setup that uses openldap's syncrepl.
The HA setup seems work fine with pacemaker.

Now i would like to setup a nagios check for the replication.

But before i can do that, i've got a simple question:
How can i poll the replication status?
