I would like to point out that while back-ldif handles the ordering
prefix fine, bconfig's (bconfig.c:4726) implementation of the same
maintains one joint sibling ordering for all AttributeTypes under the
same parent, instead of one ordering per each AttributeType as in the draft.
Lately, I've been hacking together a solution to this, but my code so
far is too ugly and fragile as DN handling inside OpenLDAP has been a
Terra Incognita for me until now.
This is the issue behind ITS#6987 I reported some time ago. Thank you
Howard for linking to the draft. It reminded me that I should have done
a better job at describing the issue than I did back when reporting the
ITS. (Should I post the more descriptive explanation to the ITS too?)
