That's what the contextCSN is for. Just ldapsearch for it and if they
match, they are up to date:

There's a Nagios plugin to check contextCSNs over several servers here:

I will note that in case of bugs in the replication mechanism as present
in older versions of OpenLDAP 2.4, this check is not 100% reliable (some
changes were missed out). For the original poster, if you're using
replication in 2.4.11, you should upgrade to 2.4.23 to avoid mentioned
bugs...
