I still quite agree, on the other hand, some of the systems I have
installed with OpenLDAP-2.4.12/13 and db-4.2.52 and a few M entries
are still running without any problem, even a system with db.4.3.x and
a few 10k entries is still running.
There are issues with some db versions, and there are issues with
OpenLDAP versions, but to my experience, filesystem and hardware
related issues should not be neglected.
