There's no need to export to LDIF, you can ldapmodify it ...

thank you. I'll remember that in the future. I'm still new to OpenLDAP and many of it's workings. However, I learn quickly. I'm remembering waaaaay back to my database courses in university and drawing on many years of system administration. With the help of the good people on this list, it went quickly and helps me prepare for the future.
