LDAP and Kerberos Keytab

Hi everyone,

I work for a company that uses openLDAP for its users.  I was told by one of our employees that Kerberos can be used to authenticate users.  The authentication is against LDAP. but LDAP accesses Kerberos through LDAP's backend.  We do not have this in place at the moment, but I was curious about it.

I have two questions.  

Is what I stated above correct (authenticate against kerberos through ldap)?  

If this is true, can the authentication be through password and keytab for Kerberos?
