What is the recommended parameters for "configure"

OpenLDAP 2.2.26 is the latest stable release. If you are looking to build 64 bit, I suggest you get the 64 bit patch from my web pages about building OpenLDAP <http://www.stanford.edu/services/directory/openldap/configuration>

As for configure, the parameters depend on what you want to do. I suggest running configure --help, reading what the options are, and reading the Admin guide.
