what do you mean by there's no "quick" loads ?

my openldap 2.2.20 with BDB 4.3.21 still allows me to use DB_TXN_NOSYNC
in DB_CONFIG !

This will however create log files, which is going to slow things down compared to 4.2. So yes, you can do a quicker load than no flags, but not what I consider a "quick" load, which is getting around the logfile creation. One some platforms, load times are drastically affected when log files are created.

If you want to see what I mean by the quicktool, I suggest you build 2.3.1 alpha against 4.3.27, and time your slapadd again using the "-q" option.
