| Before starting OL?
| My OL starts from /etc/init.d/slapd srcipt and never run db_recover.
|
| Is it correct if I make a shell script that always run
| db_recover on all BDB databases before OL starts?
BTW, IIRC, your original OpenLDAP packages that shipped with your
distribution *did* do this, erring on the side of safety ...
http://cvs.mandrakesoft.com/cgi-bin/cvsweb.cgi/SPECS/openldap/ldap.init?rev=1.11&content-type=text/x-cvsweb-markup
(in 10.1, recovery is only run in start(), not stop() and restart()).
And, IMHO, you shouldn't need to worry about running this on production
servers ... better to lose a bit on performance and be sure the DB comes
up correctly ...
|
| There was discussion on devel list about it:
| I've read it. It suggest: run db_recover before any slapd instance starts.
|
| Additional:
| I've always set checkpoint 10 2
| in slapd.conf. (I work with very small user data.)
