Change "local4.*" to "local4.debug"
 
Also make sure there are one or more <TAB> character(s), not space(s) between "local4.debug" and "/var/log/slapd.log":
 
local4.debug<TAB><TAB><TAB>/var/log/slapd.log

	touch /var/log/slapd.log
	pkill -HUP syslogd
	
	Don't forget to add it to the log rotation with logadm too (I did, and
