Dunno, as I don't do Linux (I'm a BSD bigot).  But anyway, check your 
/etc/hosts to see whether "127.0.0.1 localhost" comes before "::1 
localhost" (the latter is IPv6), or just comment it out.  This is assuming 
that it's consulted at all; that depends upon your /etc/nsswitch.conf (or 
/etc/host.conf) file.

Or if you can reconfigure OpenLDAP, build it with "--disable-ipv6".

The problem is something to do with SLAPD binding to both, and dropping 
its bundle when a client connects to it.  I never bothered investigating 
it further, because noone I know uses IPv6.
