curious about "SQL engine 'mysql' not supported"

hello-

i noticed when running slapd, the following is logged in 
/var/log/messages:

Sep 23 19:29:22 under slapd[7223]: SQL engine 'mysql' not supported
Sep 23 19:29:22 under slapd[7223]: auxpropfunc error no mechanism 
available

slapd runs even though the above is logged, just wondering what i've 
done to cause it.

i found a few posts from march of last year that mentioned similar 
auxpropfunc messages, but they appear to be not too related.
something tells me it may be related to sasl, but i thought i'd ask 
here first, since slapd is the process complaining.

any help is appreciated
