access rules doesn't match

Hi all,

I use the following access rule in my slapd.conf:

access to *

                by self write
                by anonymous auth
                by * read

But if i use "passwd" after login, to change the password in the LDAP
User Entry, I got an error message.
The Bind Method is "simple".

Whats wrong with my configuration?
