ldbm performs ok without tuning, but it can't be tuned very much. bdb
performs badly with no tuning, but much better with tuning (and has some
additional features). If you have no DB_CONFIG file in your ldap data
directories, you *need* to do some tuning ...
(On Mandrake we ship with a DB_CONFIG file that should work for smallish
installations but with some comments that give links to the tuning
documentation, so people don't have this problem immediately).
