Has someone here tried installing OpenLDAP 2.2.11 on RedHat 7.3? It
looks like a lot of dependencies must be dealt with. Any guidance or
docs?
You should buid RPM that works alone .
I mean that builds with static libs (BDB for example) and maybe that
installs itself in /usr/local.
I have source RPMS for 2.2.11 at
http://www.int-evry.fr/mci/user/procacci/SRPMS/
Although it builds with a static BDB, it still install itself in the
systems directory hierarchie (/usr/sbin/ , /usr/lib etc ...) and I get
the famous LDAP library version number dependency problem.
check for subject "LDAP library version number" in the archive.
One day maybe, I'll build a total independant openldap RPM packages,
anyone did it yet ?
