Hi.
Recently, you've been posting nearly nonsense
messages to this list concerning OpenLDAP
and back-sql; you've been answered many times,
by myself and other back-sql users, trying to
fix what appeared to be your problems, and most
of the times you skipped to the following
question without even acknowledging if the
answer was appropriate, thus giving no feedback
about the extent and the status of your problems.
You keep asking nearly the same questions,
and the problem only rarely refers to real
OpenLDAP or back-sql problems, but rather
to typos in your slapd.conf or in your .ldif
files.
Apparently your problems are not really with
back-sql or mysql itself, but with something
much more basic about LDAP in general and
OpenLDAP, and back-sql is really the last piece
of software I would encourage someone to start
with.
When you ask for help the next time, I really
suggest you already tried your best to enucleate
the actual problem, e.g. carefully review your
.conf, your .ldif files; carefully read the
logs at -1 level and find out where the real
error occurs, take the appropriate measures.
Only in case you can't really find any clue
you should post a message that contains enough
information to be of help. Your slapd.conf
can be useful but you already posted it so many
times that my openldap-software folder is
running overquota; I clearly remember answering
you that in case a back-sql specific error occurs,
the client only receives a "SQL-backend error";
details are to be found in the server logs, so
please send these logs (not ALL the logs, only
the part where the error occurs; note that this
could not be the END of the logs, because slapd
might continue processing after an error occurs,
e.g. clean shutdown, and more).
Finally, in recent postings, mostly on threads
initiated by yourself, it clearly emerged that
there are no chances to be able to load a complete
database from scratch in back-sql: in general
because there must be very well defined write
rules in the meta-data, and the examples do not
provide such rules; in detail, with mysql because
it doesn't support stored procedures (to my
knowledge, at least) so it is very unlikely that
these well defined rules can even be written for
that RDBMS.
Further questions or requests for help on this
subject that do not comply with the above
requirements will be purposely ignored.
