Startup problems, BerkeleyDB
Hi,
when i start slapd the first time after compilation - following the
steps in the quick startup guide on http://www.openldap.org) - it logs
the following lines:
Dec 18 20:49:28 alkomat slapd[3368]: bdb_initialize: Sleepycat Software:
Berkeley DB 4.1.24: (September 13, 2002)
Dec 18 20:49:29 alkomat slapd[3368]: bdb_db_init: Initializing BDB database
Dec 18 20:49:30 alkomat slapd[3369]: bdb(dc=independent,dc=de): PANIC:
Bad address
Dec 18 20:49:30 alkomat slapd[3369]: bdb(dc=independent,dc=de): PANIC:
DB_RUNRECOVERY: Fatal error, run database recovery
Dec 18 20:49:30 alkomat slapd[3369]: bdb_db_open: dbenv_open failed:
DB_RUNRECOVERY: Fatal error, run database recovery (-30982)
Dec 18 20:49:30 alkomat slapd[3369]: backend_startup: bi_db_open(0)
failed! (-30982)
and cores. I tested this with openldap-2.2.25 and db-4.1.24, db-4.2.52.
The strange is, that the log recommends to make a db recovery - but at
this point there is no db - i think that slapd should create the db
under the var directory. Doing a "make test" on the compiled binaries
gives the following output:
Initiating LDAP tests for BDB...

Any help is appreciated !
