Extended Password Operation -- Is it considered an update operation?

Hello all,

Is the Extended Password Operation considered an update operation?  I've just read the RFC3062, and my understanding of it indicates that it should be an update operation.  So, shouldn't there be a SLAPI post-update function call after the extended operation has completed?
