RE: openLDAP limits directory entries to 500 !!!

Hi all,
my diagnostic about :
It seems that openldap do a search while adding new entries (probably to
avoid duplicate entry).
is correct.

I set the directive SIZELIMIT to 1.000.000 and load the ldif file
containing 10.000 entries successfully.

Thus openLDAP server stops doing search - but no fail to adding entries.

Thinks for all
Best regards

Hi,
thanks I will try to set the directive SIZELIMIT to a great number in
order to see
what happens.

It seems that openldap do a search while adding new entries (probably to
avoid duplicate entry). If my diagnostic is correct, setting directive
SIZELIMIT to 1.000.000 would correct the problem.

I will return the result.

There is a default limit of 500 entries that can be returned from
ldapsearch commands (unless you change the sizelimit directive in
slapd.conf (man slapd.conf)) -- but there is NO limit in OpenLDAP on the
number of entries you can add... I have over 50,000 in my server and I
know that Stanford University has even more than that....
