Re: Building + running with non-standard library locations

I'm trying to build OpenLDAP on SuSE with the various support libraries (BerkeleyDB, SASL, etc) in /usr/local/... rather than /usr/lib, /usr/include, etc. However, I can't figure out the right combination of environment variables and configure parameters to locate the required files at build time, let alone what should be set at run time.

Are there some pointers that are clearer than the included instructions?

Thanks.
