PAM LDAP: file descriptor leakage

Hello all,

I inherited 3 years old software product for support
and maintenance.
The product uses old PAM LDAP client. I found file
descriptor leakage
during the LDAP stress test
More precisely it occurs within
  rc = _connect_as_user (session, password);
  _connect_anonymously (session); 
function calls.

I?m sure this is a known issue. 
Would you, please, point me to new PAM LDAP client
code achieve.
