groupOfNames vs groupOfUniqueNames

Title: groupOfNames vs groupOfUniqueNames

After some investigation, I'm still somewhat unclear on the choice between groupOfNames with the member attribute, and groupOfUniqueNames with the uniqueMember attribute

Given that we're using currently planning to use the uid attribute of inetOrgPerson to store usernames, I'm not sure how this relates to the optional UID component of uniqueMember's syntax.

Can someone provide some clarity?
