I'm running into this problem of being able to log into KDE or GNOME on
a client machine running LDAP. I've checked and compared configuration
files between it and the master(No problem with the master with logging
in). After entering user name and password, it says authentication
failed(ssh in with the same username/password, and it works).
Here's what /var/log/messages shows about it:
Jul 15 10:41:53 nuc003 gdm(pam_unix)[1260]: check pass; user unknown
Jul 15 10:41:53 nuc003 gdm(pam_unix)[1260]: authentication failure;
logname= uid
=0 euid=0 tty=:0 ruser= rhost=
Jul 15 10:41:55 nuc003 gdm(pam_unix)[1260]: could not identify user
(from getpwn
am(yossefk))
Jul 15 10:41:55 nuc003 gdm[1260]: Couldn't set acct. mgmt for yossefk
Jul 15 10:42:08 nuc003 gdm(pam_unix)[1260]: authentication failure;
logname= uid
=0 euid=0 tty=:0 ruser= rhost= user=root
Jul 15 10:42:10 nuc003 gdm[1260]: Couldn't authenticate user
Any help would be appreciated.
