RE: Very Basic Question
Good day,
Please only use plaintext encoding for messages to mailing lists.

Red Hat has chosen to install many of the files in different locations to
make it more consistent with other packages. The man pages for the various
files (slapd.conf, slapd) will reveal their installed locations. Please
examine them for more information. If you want to see where everything has
been installed, use
rpm -q --filesbypkg openldap-servers
to find out. Consult your man page for rpm for more information.
To control the server, you can use the Red Hat script /etc/init.d/ldap to
start and stop it.
