In 2.0 you have to shut it down (I'm using replication, and shuts
down the slave and back that db instead of the master). In 2.1
I'm not sure (I haven't started using that live yet). But 'rumors'
(ie, what I can remember of the few mails I read on openldap-software
these days :) say that it's ok to backup a 2.1 db live. But don't
quote me on that!
