OpenLDAP allows this, and AFAIK, so does LDAP.

Updating attributes with my own software does not. I'm won't say it shouldn't at least be an option, but I haven't yet met the need.

I'm back at coding, so if anybody thinks otherwise or has anything else they'd like to see in a web to ldap gateway, *please* submit a suggestion:
