entries with multiple objectClasses

What does it mean when an entry has more than one
instance of the "objectClass" attribute. For example
(abbreviated):

sn           Snoopy
uidNumber    6030
gidNumber    6030
mail         snoopy@pheonix.com
objectClass  top
objectClass  person
objectClass  organizationalPerson
objectClass  inetOrgPerson
objectClass  posixAccount
uid          DSnoopy
cn           Dave Snoopy

Is it correct to say that this entry inherits the
attributes from all of the objectClasses mentioned? Or
does it simply represent a union of all attributes in
the objectClasses mentioned? Or are these
"objectClass" attributes simply meaningless strings,
which have no relevance on anything else?
