Slapadd fails to create database

I run the following

/usr/sbin/slapadd -v -f  ./slapd.conf -l ./ldapfile.ldif

and after a little over 200 entries are added, the process crashes with the
following error.

Command terminated by signal 11

Could anybody give me an idea of what is causing slapadd to crash? The same
process ran yesterday without any problem.
Nothing was changed on the server (no packaged added/updated).
