Problem with LDAP and Oracle

I have an LDAP cluster of 4 servers running 2.1.16.

My problem is with a server that is using LDAP for authentication. It  has
an Oracle database 8173 and when connecting using sqlplus internal it hangs.
I feel the problem lies in the fact that Oracle is using a local password
file to authenticate. Does anyone know of a way to make Oracle use the LDAP
server?
