LDAP error 49 is "Invalid Credentials", which can easily be found in RFC 2251
or in <ldap.h> in the source code. Most LDAP clients would tell you this
directly as well, since it is a standard response code. A client would not
interpret this any further, but you could infer that either you mistyped your
password, or the password in the LDAP database is different than you expected
it to be.
