Helios authenticating against OpenLDAP
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Hi,
has anybody been successful in using Helios Ethershare with OpenLDAP
authentication? I have managed to have "normal" Linux clients be
authenticated against my OpenLDAP server, but EtherShare fails,
although it tries to.
I have OpenLDAP 2.0.25 with posixAccounts that work well, at least I
can login and I get to my home directory. I have set up a few groups
and users and getent always shows me what is on the LDAP server.
Now, with Heliso EtherShare, thats a bit different. It also gets the
groups and users from the LDAP server but it seems that it cannot
verify the password. A look into the ldap.log shows the following…
Oct 7 14:51:15 intranet-2 slapd[748]: daemon: conn=3446 fd=27

Any hint is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Stephan
