AFAIK this is triggered by a bug in Berkeley DB. I had the same problem
today. I compiled Berkeley DB with the patch from:
http://www.openldap.org/lists/openldap-bugs/200208/msg00131.html
For me it seems to work now. For more details see ITS#2040.
