Generating Schema OID's

Howdy Folks,

I'm in the process of putting together a schema for a calendar 
application.  My question is in reference to the Object ID's for the 
AttributeTypes and ObjectClasses in the schema.

Is there a standard way for generating the Object ID's so that they 
don't interfere/clash with existing OID's from the various RFC's and 
other products, or am I pretty much on my own?
