re: Newbie: Invalid Credentials

Thanks for the tip, with fresh interest, perhaps I have an error in my slapd.conf file, I see suffix and rootdn.

my home domain is family
the server is webby

I have a cleartext password that I have changed for posting purposes, so I see three? possibilites

my dn is incorrect in: [root@Webby openldap]# ldapadd -x -h localhost -D
 >> "cn=root,dc=family,dc=com" -f base.ldif -W
 >> > Enter LDAP Password:
 >> > ldap_bind: Invalid credentials

my password is supposed to be encrypted and I am cleartext now (how would I change either end)

my ldbd file has the wrong information in at and needs to be purged.

Thanks

Alan
