Searching entire tree
Good day,
We had a situation where we had to get a dump of an LDAP server that was
poorly set up- it did not have a basedn set up per se, and thus dn's ended
in various unknown attributes. We didn't have any other access to the
server.
We noted that if we try to query with no basedn with OpenLDAP's ldapsearch,
it instead searches on "dc=example,dc=com" (I believe it was).
We ended up using U of M's ldapsearch, which seems to easily allow this ( we
used -b "" ).
Is there any way with OpenLDAP's "ldapsearch" to request the root element as
the base dn? We've searched high and low in the documentation and on the
site.
Thanks in advance,
