acually i'am on a windows enviroment. But it seems to be a general
openldap problem, because i saw similar problems distributed among the
net with people having various platforms.

thx, thats what i'll do.

Again, i cannot emphasize enough how bad the openldap executables
handle/report problems or configuration errors.

A friend of mine gave me his preconfigured/precompiled openldap with the
appropiate *.ldif example and setup script which, thank god, worked.
