authentication credentials

re iplanet web proxy server 3.6 with the use of an ldap directory server

following problem

netscape server (general) administration, users and groups, shows

"authentication credentials could not be obtained from the administration
server
(no match for user id)"

do you have any hint for me how to solve this ?
